Downloading Assignments

Instructors can place assignments in any of their content areas, such as Resource Room or Course Documents.

In this section of the tutorial you’ll learn how to navigate to an assignment, and how to download assignment files to your computer. In the next section of the tutorial, you will learn how to upload an assignment
once it has been completed.

  1. To access an assignment, click on the appropriate link in the Course Menu on the left.
  2. Blackboard Assignments link

  3. Read any instructions that accompany the assignment,
  4. Then click on the View/Complete Assignment link.

  6. On the Upload Assignment page, download the Assignment Files by clicking on the adjacent link and saving the file to your computer.
  7. Click on the [Cancel] button to leave the Assignment page.

You will return to this page when you have completed the assignment and are ready to upload it, as outlined in the next tutorial.

Uploading an Assignment

NOTE: You will not be able to remove or edit the submitted assignment until your instructor has cleared your initial attempt from the grade book. If you still need to make changes to your assignment, use the [Save] button, then use the [Submit] button when you are ready to turn in the assignment.

In this tutorial you’ll learn how to navigate to an assignment, how to upload completed assignment files from your computer, and how to submit the assignment to your instructor.

  1. To access an assignment, click on the appropriate link in the Course Menu on the left.
  2. Return to the assignment from which you initially downloaded your assignment files by clicking on the View/Complete Assignment link.
  3. Blackboard Assignments upload page

  4. On the Upload Assignment page, in the Your Files section, type your comments in the text box provided.
  5. To retrieve your completed assignment files, click on the [Browse] button.
  6. In the Choose file dialog box, select your file and click the [Open] button.
  7. To finish sending the file, click the [Submit] button. When the receipt is displayed, click the [OK] button.
