Random Thoughts on Instructional Design
How Web technologies are shaping education : “Teachers are starting to explore the potential of blogs, media-sharing services and other social software – which, although not designed specifically for e-learning, can be used to empower students and create exciting new learning opportunities.”
…but I imagine articles of this nature – that reach beyond our edublogger community – are important for mainstreaming these ideas. I must say that after a few years of working with these tools, I don’t understand why there are so few pedagogically sound examples available for public review. I am finding that my interest is far less in the tools themselves…and much more in the seamless integration of technological tools into learning environments. I realize that many educators are just now beginning to experience blogs, RSS, wikis, flickr, etc so they have not had time to test the effectiveness of these new technologies in the learning environment much less publish their findings.
